Help & User Guides

Learn how to make the most of our network diagnostic tools with these comprehensive guides.

IP Address Checker

The IP Address Checker automatically detects your public IP address and provides detailed location and ISP information.

How it works:

  • Your IP address is automatically detected when you visit the page
  • Location information is fetched from trusted geolocation APIs
  • Click the copy button to copy your IP address to clipboard

What you'll see:

  • IP Address: Your public IPv4 or IPv6 address
  • Location: City, region, and country based on IP geolocation
  • ISP: Your Internet Service Provider information

Ping Test

The Ping Test measures the latency (response time) between your device and major servers worldwide.

How to use:

  1. Click the "Run Ping Test" button
  2. Wait for the test to complete (usually takes 5-10 seconds)
  3. Review the results for each server

Understanding results:

  • Low latency (0-50ms): Excellent connection
  • Medium latency (50-100ms): Good for most activities
  • High latency (100ms+): May affect real-time applications
  • Timeout/Error: Connection issues or server problems

Speed Test

The Speed Test measures your internet connection's download speed, upload speed, and latency to help you understand your connection quality.

How to use:

  1. Click "Start Speed Test" button
  2. Wait for the test phases to complete (latency → download → upload)
  3. Review your results and compare with your ISP's advertised speeds

Test phases:

  • Latency Test: Measures ping time to test servers
  • Download Test: Measures how fast you can receive data
  • Upload Test: Measures how fast you can send data

Tips for accurate results:

  • Close other applications that use internet bandwidth
  • Connect directly via Ethernet for most accurate results
  • Run the test multiple times for consistency
  • Test at different times of day to see variations

DNS Lookup

The DNS Lookup tool resolves domain names to IP addresses and shows various DNS record types for troubleshooting and analysis.

How to use:

  1. Enter a domain name (e.g., google.com) in the input field
  2. Click "Lookup" or press Enter
  3. Review the DNS records returned

Record types explained:

  • A Record: Maps domain to IPv4 address
  • AAAA Record: Maps domain to IPv6 address
  • MX Record: Mail exchange servers for the domain
  • NS Record: Name servers for the domain
  • CNAME Record: Canonical name (alias) for the domain
  • TXT Record: Text information (often used for verification)

Common use cases:

  • Troubleshooting website connectivity issues
  • Verifying DNS propagation after changes
  • Finding mail servers for a domain
  • Checking if a domain resolves correctly
